Spain is a democracy organized in the form of a parliamentary government under a constitutional Monarchy. It is a developed country with the world’s fourteenth largest economy by GDP. It is a member of the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU), the Council of Europe, the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Spain officially called the Kingdom of Spain is a sovereignty found on the Iberian Peninsula in Europe. Spain has archipelagos in the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea and several small territories on and near North Africa. Its prime land is bordered to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea except for a small land boundary with Gibraltar; to the north and northeast by France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; and to the west and northwest by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean. Along with France and Morocco, it is one of only three countries to have both Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines.

Spain is recognized for its tennis talent hub of Mallorca. The predominant emerging performer is Rafael Nadal, the Spaniard, who is currently ranked the world’s No. 5. He is widely regarded as one of the finest players in history and is considered by many in the sport to be the greatest clay-court player of all time. Nadal has won 14 Grand Slam singles titles, the 2008 Olympic gold medal in singles, 27 titles in ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events, among many, many other events.

Spanish wines are some of the best tasting wines in the world. The grape farmers are territorial about their centuries old grape-growing techniques developed in the early romantic Europe. These grape growers have defined and achieved the distinct Terroir, which is that set of all environmental factors that affect a crop’s epigenetic qualities when the crop is grown in the particular habitat. The wines, besides great taste, are healthy. Crops are organic with no pesticides, and biodynamic using only wild natural yeasts as opposed to genetically modified yeast. Biodynamic agriculture follows the ideas of Rudolf Steiner where soil fertility, plant growth, and livestock care are viewed as ecologically interrelated tasks. These natural and wild brands are emerging (www.cosechaimports.com).

The native Spaniards engage in the Running of the Bulls; a practice that involves running in front of a small group of toro bravo cattle that have been let loose on a closed course of the town’s streets.

What is little known, however, is that many Spanish citizens suffer from #backpain and #neckpain. Citizens of Spain are not aware that studies say that 1/138 to 1/276 Spain’s 1.4 trillion US dollars GDP is spent on spine related problems, costing $5 – $10 billion US dollars. Furthermore, the spine affects the physical, emotional and financial well-being of each of Spain’s 46.5 million citizens.

A recent study by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and published in Lancet shows that in 1990 and in 2013, the world’s #1 source and burden of disability is low back pain, and the world’s #4 source and burden of disability is neck pain.

Citizens of Spain are suffering. They want answers and strategies to stop this suffering. Every year more and more Spanish citizens get permanently stuck with #backpain, and #neckpain.
