A cell saver is used to recover red blood cells lost during surgery and return them to circulation in the patient’s body. Some Jehovah’s witnesses prefer to use the closed loop technique since the circuit is synchronous and therefore unbroken with the patient’s circulatory system. This “closed loop” method is accepted and used by some of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
